Friday, 25th Novmber, 2011
aegres has won 4 of the total 8 business awards at the TasICT 2011 Industry Awards Night including the two major awards; the ministers award and the presidents award. aegres won the awards through the submission of projects completed for the newly opened MONA gallery.
aegres were finalists in all 5 award categories that they entered and went home with 4 out of the total 8 presented awards:
- 2011 President's Award for Excellence
- Minister's Award for Best Business Improvement ICT
- Best Use of ICT to Deliver Benefit to the Tasmanian Community
- Best ICT Solution
MONA strategically partnered with aegres to consult, design and/or provide all ICT systems required for the delivery of the Museum of Old and New Art - a world class gallery opened in Hobart Tasmania during January 2011.
MONA is a model site for IP convergence technology. All site systems are distributed over fibre optic IP networks built on Allied Telesis hardware spanning 20 building and 2000 switch ports. Significant cost savings were realised through IP convergence only requiring one type and install process of underground inter-building cabling. Flexibility and future proofing have also been maximised. Systems converged include:
- Computer Data Networking and Internet
- Security
- Surveillance
- Access Control
- Mechanical Services (HVAC)
- Fire and Human Safety
- Power Management
- IP Telephony
- Cordless DECToverIP Telephony
- Lighting
- MATV
- Audio Visual
- Gallery Artwork Technology
The achievement of 4 awards at the 2011 TasICT Industry awards is recognition of both the innovative MONA project and the dedication and commitment of the aegres staff.
